Nikola Danev's Research
Originally from North Macedonia, I graduated from Columbia University in the City of New York with a B.A. in Biology in 2020, after which I interned at a pharmaceutical firm. I joined Cornell as part of the Genetics, Genomics and Develeopment graduate field in August of 2020. Having joined the Van de Walle lab in March of 2021, I have been working on several projects since, mostly focusing on our Mammosphere-Derived Epithelial Cell work, in both cows and pigs. I am also currently working with Chicken Mesenchymal Stem Cells. The overarching topic of my work is focusing on the antimicrobial properties of these cells, as well as characterizing them from a genetic and genomic perspective.
